Large lump in breast

Hey everyone

First time here.. been reading forums and everyone seems so supportive of each other which is honestly so nice to read even if unfortunately bad news was the outcome.

So a few weeks ago I was infront of the mirror getting ready and I looked at my breasts and my right one looked different so I had a feel around and boom there it was a very large lump! How I had not noticed this before I do not know!
I laid on my bed and began comparing to the other breast.
In all different positions and there was no doubt about it this lump is like the size of a golf ball but not very visible stood up.

I got an appointment with the doctor a few days later which at the time I wasn't to concerned because am only 28 and thought it could be something to do with my hormones but when the doctor saw it his and the nurses faces changed and was very urgent to get me seen at the breast clinic as soon as possible so booked me in for this Monday coming just a week later.

so now am quite worried!

has anyone else had anything similar??

  • Hi Jess91 and welcome to the forum.

I know that lots of our members here will understand how worrying it can be when a referral for an urgent appointment is made.

Try to keep positive and bear in mind that most women diagnosed with breast cancer are much older than you and that there could be any number of reasons for this lump to have developed.

I can see that you've been chatting with others on the forum. Hopefully after your appointment on Monday you will have a much clearer idea of what's going on so keep in touch and let us know what happens. I know that the members here will do their best to offer advice and support.

    Best wishes,
