Referral after ultrasound

I had a transvaginal scan and have been referred to a gynaecology and have a 14 week waiting list I'm on I thought I was going through the change due to symptoms extreme fatigue nausea, headaches, no energy, my periods had changed over the last 6 months spotting between them and sometimes only weeks apart then could go 2 months apart, constant lower back pain and pain in left side of abdomen/ pelvic area.  The scan showed a lump on the left side of my womb my GP said it's nothing to worry about and non urgent. Should I be worried I have read up on it and says most times its non cancerous but there is always a % it could be. 14 weeks is a long time to wait to find out its constantly on my mind

  • Hello Ley241,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. 14 weeks can indeed feel like a long time to wait but you've done the right thing to go and talk to someone about this and having it investigated. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results. It's good though your GP said it's nothing to worry about and I hope this has reassured you a little. I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
