Bowel cancer worries

Hi Im not sure if I'm in the right place or not. Recently I've being so petrified over my own health. I'm diagnosed with severe health anxiety. In the past 2 years I've diagnosed myself with over 4 cancers I was always told by doctors it's nothing to worry about. I accepted this. On the 4th of October I had a b/m and it was wrapped in yellow mucus with blood in the mucus. For 2 days I passed nothing but bloody mucus (I have ibs if that makes any difference) after that I was so worried. I've seen two doctors both said piles. I've had diahrea and I've lost my appetite for the last 11 days. I'm not sure if it's because of stress or not. I'm just wondering if anyone can offer me any kind of answer because I've literally put myself in a terminal mindset and I'm petrified I'm only 20 with a 20 month old

  • Hi Abz,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I understand it's always difficult when there are bodily changes - it can be naturally worrying. The best thing is to trust your doctors - it sounds like you've had a few different appointments with different doctors so do try to listen to what they're saying if you can.

In order to do something proactive, it could be helpful to write down any symptoms you notice each day, and then to track if things are getting better or worse or changing at all. If you're still worried, you can then take this to a doctor and discuss everything.

Stress can make symptoms seem worse, so try to focus on keeping a normal routine and distracting yourself from this as much as possible.

    Wishing you all the best,
