lymphectomy axillary tomorrow

I'm at a lymphoma clinic and seem to have an autoimmune condition. I am booked in to see a breast surgeon tomorrow to have an axilliary lymph node removed to test for what is causing enlarged lymph nodes everywhere.

How long will it hurt for after? 

They haven't told me not to eat anything, should I have a cooked breakfast, and bring a book and picnic?

    I'm not sure what time your appointment is today but I just wanted to wish you good luck and give you our cancer nurses telephone number as they may be able to answer some of your questions. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday from 9a.m onwards so do give them a a quick call if you want to chat to them about this and hopefully you'll hear back from some of our members as well.

    I've had something to eat and I'm on my way in ! 

    Update. No surgery today, the secretary got the wrong idea. Going back tomorrow to make arrangements for operation under general anaesthetic. Haematology want results fast apparently.
