Supraclavicular left lump

Hi, I'm on here mainly to fill the time of the big wait. I've got a 3cm lump on supraclacular left lymph node, been seen at hospital and had immediate biopsy and ultrasound the next day. They said my results would be a week-ish but had nothing so called after 10 days and they said my biopsy has been sent on to hospital for further review. My ultrasound results are there ready and waiting but I've been told it could be another 2 weeks before biopsy results come back.To be honest the way the lump feels and from everything I've read I'm not expecting great news but it's the waiting that's killing me. Has anyone else had experience of biopsy being sent in to another hospital or why they wouldn't at least give me ultrasound result, I just want to know what I'm dealing with and get in with it as I'm only 45, thanks in advance for any help

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can imagine this is difficult - waiting for information is always tough.

    Sometimes ultrasounds can be inconclusive so they probably want to wait to give you all the information at once.

    I hope it's not too much longer for you to wait to find out more.

    Hi Ben thank you for your reply, I chased on Monday and now finally have an apt for my results tomorrow which I'm so relieved about because 3 weeks since the biopsy, the lump has definitely grown.

    im fully prepared for what it could be and just want to get in with whatever we need to do now, I've never been an over fussy person or a worrier, but this wait has been awful and for anyone else in a similar position, I feel for you, hang in there, it's so tough.

    Good luck tomorrow, my lymph nodes began coming up in the supraclavicular region too, hope you get good news.

    Hi so I have a bit of an update in that I have to now have an open biopsy because the results are inconclusive but they do suspect lymphoma from the ultrasound and I initial biopsy.

    im having it under general as they might also need samples from my tonsils and adenoids too as they are part of lymphatic system. So I feel a bit better that we are on to the next stage as this is what we always suspected, especially as it has grown over the last 3 weeks,just hoping it will happen next week and things will move quickly

    Hi Chris85,

     

    Birdie8 hasn't posted for a while so you may get more of a response on more of an active thread, as this was from 2019. I also have a palpable left supraclavicular lymph node and I'm having pain and some movement/popping in my abdomen so I know how frightening it is. I wanted to wish you the best.
