Blocked saliva gland

Hi all

went for ultrasound on neck lump today and told it’s blocked saliva gland need to have dye an X-ray. Thought it was my lymph node which is quite a relief but still have my tongue biopsy in a few days. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experience.

ive also been referred for ct and mri scan but can’t help feeling that these are maybe not needed due to results today.

any feedback would really be appreciated.

    I'm sure that it was a big relief to hear the results of your ultrasound this week. Hopefully your biopsy will go smoothly and give you some more reassuring news. 

    I'm sure that at the moment the Dr's are keen to cross all the T's and dot all the I's by ordering the CT and MRI. If you're unsure about the scans then do give them a call or ask at your next appointment.

    I think I will give them a little ring. Since the ultrasound I’m not sure whether it’s all the prodding and pushing down on the lump it seems to have got down somewhat. I read that you can unblock the salivary gland at home by massaging it. It seems maybe that’s what’s happened.
