Left Supraclavicular Lymph Node lump

Hi all,

I came across your informative site while doing the inevitable googling.

at a dental appointment a month ago my dentist found a lump just above my left collar bone which he said I should get checked by my dr.

i left it a few weeks in case it was due to infection but it didn’t go away so I saw my GP last Monday. She said it was small and probably just a gristly lump but should probably still be checked.

i had blood tests taken (Full blood count, Erythrocytes sedimentation rate, Serum CRP and Urea & electrolytes), they all came back within normal ranges.

i was sent for a chest X-ray on Thursday and told results will take about a week.

i haven’t spoken with my GP since the initial appointment and wasn’t told to make an appointment so am assuming she will contact me with results.

I was diagnosed hypothyroid last year and am on  Levothyroxine. My main symptoms for that included being tired all the time. Even on medication I still feel very tired. I’ve also been having hot flushes mainly at night for the last 2-3 months which I’ve put down to menopause (I’m 51).

ive read about the symptoms of Lymphoma and night sweats which alarmed me a bit. I’ve seen that most people say they get drenched - I’m not I just get clammy and have to take all the bed covers off me until I cool down.

My questions is, what will a chest X-ray be looking for? I see on most posts that people are sent for ultrasound / CT / biopsy.

im trying not to worry, I know it’s unlikely to be anything serious but just wondering what I should expect now.

thanks :)
