My mother had stage 3 bowel cancer that had spread to the Lymph nodes diagnosed a year ago. She had surgery and 6 months of chemo and in July this year she went into remission. Bloods and scans all clear. 
 

This week she had a colonoscopy and bloods done. The colonoscopy was clear but the bloods have shown her tumour markers for her liver were bad. She has been referred for an urgent CT scan.

Has anyone been in a similar position, did you scan show that the cancer had come back and spread so quickly or was it a false alarm.
