I had surgery at the end of July for what doctors thought was an ovarian cyst.
It turned out to be my appendix was enlarged. The discharge papers said samples had been sent for urgent histology in basingstoke for suspected pseudomyxoma (PMP). They also mentioned no other signs of complications or disease.
I was called back to my local hospital who did the surgery after 3 weeks to check my scars and to be told they have no news.
Now, almost 9 weeks of no news and being told by the hospital I just have to wait I have received a letter from Basingstoke for an appointment with a specialist surgeon.
Am I to assume from that it was malignant?! I find it absolutely disgusting that I've been called to such a centre and that no one has even had the decency to call me and explain why I'm being called.
Has anyone been through anything similar who can offer any kind of advice or reassurance?
The appointment is 25 October so I still have to wait another month.
This is horrendous as a mum to a 9 year old who I look at crying that I'm going to leave soon!
