Breast lump growing need advice please

Hi all so feel Abit silly writing here but I just need somewhere to express how I'm feeling this laying awake at night over thinking is driving me mad.

So to start I found a lump went to the doctor and got a referral for breast clinic got my appointment for the clinic for 6 weeks later so not an urgent referral because I am 27 she said she wasn't feeling it was urgent . So I still haven't had my breast clinic appointment it's in two weeks.  But while i have been waiting the lump (on other upper of right breast) has grown considerable and moving towards my armpit. It's and unusual shape, long kind of. 

Any advice or just comments would be appreciated iv learnt Google is not a friend in regards to something like this .

Also to add to this doctor on the same day referred me for ultrasound on my ovaries due to symptoms there so it's adding to the what ifs and if they both could be related??

    Welcome to the forum.

    I am sorry to hear about your symptoms and the long wait that you've got to be seen at the breast clinic. This is always a worrying time, while you are waiting for a diagnosis. It's a pity that you didn't go back to your doctor when you discovered this other lump, as she could have changed your referral to the more urgent 2 week time frame. If you've only got 2 weeks to wait, there doesn't seem any point in doing it now.

    Have you had any word of your ultrasound yet? With so many unknowns this is a scary time. You probably won't get a diagnosis on your first visit, but will have tests. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to get your results after that.

    You are quite right about Dr Google. Try your best to avoid consulting him as much as possible.

    Try to keep yourself busy to distract yourself from the wait. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    I hope that nothing untoward is found both with your ultrasound and your breast clinic visit.

    Hiya if it’s growing contact the gp and tell them

    so they can maybe speed up your apppintment. It might well be nothing to worry about but if they can see you sooner then there’s no harm

    in it xxx

    Yeah I really need to keep myself busy it's more at night your mind runs away with you when the distractions arnt there , yeah because appointment for breast clinic is in two weeks il just have to wait it out ,now my doctor said she will refer me for a mammogram but letter just said breast clinic in out patients ward so hoping all tests needed are on that day . 

    As for ultrasound on my ovaries I have not heard a word I'm sure there's a longer wait for this .

    So many what ifs up in the air .

    There is so many doctors in my actual GPS I was referred by a doctor I had never seen before I didn't even get her name silly I know . I might just ring tomorrow see if something can be done as u said no harm , I'm afraid they will just think I'm over reacting but look if I don't try I won't know .

    Hi Nic,

    I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 10 years plus several false alarms, so I know only too well the agonies that you are going through.

    The evenings/early hours of the morning are always the worst times. Can you do something pleasant to take your mind off the wait? A visit to the cinema, theatre or even to see friends all tend to pass the time. In most cases the breast clinic is a one-stop shop where you will get all the routine tests on your first visit. These usually include a mammogram and/or an ultrasound and a biopsy, although you won't get any diagnosis until the results come back 1-2 weeks later.

    You shouldn't have too long to wait for the ultrasound of your ovaries, I hope. I doubt that you'll get your appointment brought forward now, because the emergency appointments are given within a 2 week time frame and, you're already at this stage - still, as Lesleys said, there's no harm in trying.

    Hi ,

    So I got an appointment with my doctor today she felt the lump again and was extremely concerned faxed on a urgent referral to the breast clinic so hopefully might be seen to sooner fingers crossed . I'm feeling rather run down and keep getting hot flushes and every now and then get a shooting pain in armpit beside the lump not sure if it's all realted but doctor knows all this so I will keep all updated it's nice to have somewhere to chat , also got appointment for ultrasound on ovaries not until November but one thing at a time

    Hi Nic,

    I'm glad to hear that you managed to see your GP again yesterday and that she has now sent an urgent referral. Here's hoping that this brings your appointment forward. It's also good to hear that you have got your ultrasound appointment through.
