Worried about cancer in lymph nodes

I've had this moveable tiny lump in my groin area since possibly August. Doctot said not to worry. Weird thing is, i had an ultrascan later and came back normal. But that lump grew a bit then became painful, doctor still says it's fine. Now the lumps surrounding that area have become painful to touch.

I've also had lumps on my neck for years so going for an ultra scan.

What is worrying me is this fatigue that has not left since June (had flu) recently it;s gotten worst, and I'm worried that some cancer has gone unnotcied.

I'm otherwise not losing weight or anything. Should I be firm and request another ultrascan of my groin?

  • A biopsy will tell them if it's cancer or not.

Have you requested they do a biopsy ? X

  • I don't think theu would allow it, as the original lump is still very tiny.

  • Since March 2019 i have had the same problem on my left side the back of my left  knee and side of kneecap doubled in size.  The lymph nodes on the left side of my groin swelled up and now when touched is painful.  I have severe back pain and severe lower abdominal pain everyday.  Take 1000grm paracetomol every 6hrs and now been prescribed oramorph to help to reduce the pain.  I had ultrasound scan on the outside of the skin on my stomach groin and pelvis get results tomorrow a mass was seen in pelvic area which could be enlarged ovary.  I am 65yrs next week and i am extremely worried as I now have a deep heavy cough which hurts my lower abdomen, back and chest.

I go to bed at 9pm exhausted sleep til 1am  now it is 3am I have been up 5 times to go to wee.

What is happening to my body?

Since March 2019 I have lymphoedema in the groin and since my teens in both feet and legs.  I have been told not to have any operations from the waist down as in 1973 i had a boney spur removed from my left foot which was then slim but since the operation the same foot is extremely swollen and painful i am not able to wear shoes as the pressure makes the swelling worse and it is extremely hard to get shoes to fit me.  Even CosyToes in Street footwear specialist could not help me they could only supply me with extra wide soft socks and the bed socks are lovely.   I can only wear Birkenstock open toe flip flop the toe post is moulded to the base of the sole So basically it is made in one piece of rubber.  Now Birenstock have stopped making them I have to find another supplier and Manufacturer for extra wide fitting footwear that only covers my toes as i have such a high instep.

Please give me an update to your situation.  A nurse told me i may need to have a hysterectomy as i am now bleeding hoping i will not need to have an operation and it can be sorted with tablets.

Hope  yours is good news.  As the pain is unbearable and i feel so drained and exhausted after washing up the dishes.

  • Now just got off the phone to the GP very frustrating. As he just doesn't know what else he can do. To be fair he has tested me for a lot of things and done a lot of bloods. The only thing that came back was raised CK levels which he will check later. But he doesn't know if anything sinister is there despite my fatigue.

He said I should come in so he can check my groin again and based on that will either refer me or not.

I'm frustrated with this, just don't want to have something sinister lurking.

Hope all goes well with you Lulu28

  • Got back from ultrassound. Showed slight enlarged nodes, but nothing suggests anything sinister as they said it would have grow even more, said to check with doctor to properly know. Might explain the tiredness

  • Sounds good then, nothing sinister :) X
