Thyroid suspicious

So I went for a scan a few weeks ago as I can see a lump in my throat.  The consultant said the large lump I can see and feel is a benign nodule. But there is also another small lump in the other side of my thyroid which he said is a level 4 suspicious with 5 being cancer. I've got to go back for another scan 7th October.

By the time this appointment arrives it would have been 5 weeks. I'm just worried it's going to be really bad and also why that didn't do a biopsy last time if it's a 4.

Anyone else had suspicious thyroid nodules and what happened?

Thanks

  • Hello Clairedelou,

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I can imagine it is really stressful for you to have to wait 5 weeks for your appointment. I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
