Hello everyone I'm just after a bit of advice really, recently what I thought was IBS has been playing up, I went to my Dr in July and she put me back on tablets, they haven't helped and my symptoms have worsened, I've been getting really bad wind, pelvic pain, back ache, feeling fully quickly and bloated stomach, also the past 2 months me period has been late and I'm usually very regular. I have also being having bouts of diarrhea and also more frequent urination. I went to the Dr again yesterday and she felt my tummy then said she was sending me for a scan and blood tests, I've been convinced for a few weeks that I have symptoms of ovarian cancer, but being only 30 years of age I know that is rare, I am concerned but was wondering if ovarian cysts could also cause these symptoms? Or does this sound like the more sinister of the two? Any advice or stories welcome please x

    I hope you are feeling ok;)

    I am 33 years old and  going through the same thing at the moment. I have already beaten cervical cancer at 23 years old but I am now suffering with Daily heartburn and ingestion, bloating, wind, pelvic aches and sharp pains, irregular periods and bleeding.

    I have had a scan and have a 4cm x 3.5cm x 3.7cm dermoid cyst on my right ovary and possible endometriosis, I am now waiting to have a CA125 blood test and i have a referral to gyno on oct 29th to discuss removal of the cyst.

    I do know that OC and OV cysts do have similar symptoms which is really frustrating but the scan and blood tests are certainly a good start. What type of blood test are they giving you?

    I am feeling ok I suppose! I hope.you are well? Thank you for the reply, I am so sorry to hear all what you have been through sending you good luck wishes, my Dr is sending me for a scan then once I've had scan she want to do a ca125 blood test but she wants to wait for the scan results first, I hate the not knowing.

    The not knowing, waiting for tests and results is the worst part of it all.

    I am struggling with the indigestion / acid reflux at the moment so have been prescribed lansoprazole and naproxen for the ovary pain. Being in pain and uncomfortable doesn't help the situation and is a little reminder every day. Have you been offered any medication for your symptoms?

    I have been prescribed lansoprazole also for the acid but nothing else, 

    Yes it's the waiting around that I'm finding hardest, I'm thinking the likeyhood is that it is a cyst giving my age ECT but you just never know,

    Just an update....So I have paid for a private gyno appointment and it has really helped me.

    I am now being referred to another doctor for a laparoscopy in 2 weeks and urgent CA125 blood tests.

    She seems to think that the endometriosis could be causing my symptoms after her examination. She isnt ruling out the cyst but thinks that the endo and a hormone imbalance is the place to start. For the 1st time in 4 months I actually feel like someone is listening and taking action.
