I am sorry to hear these symptoms are causing so much anxiety. It's good that your GP has referred you and it won't be long now before you are seen by a specialist and find out a bit more about what is causing these issues. 

I think it would be a good idea to get in touch with your doctor if you haven't done so already and mention this ulcer type lesion you have noticed today at the entrance of the opposite ear. As it's a new symptom which only appeared after your GP had already referred you, it might be something they want to be aware of ahead of your appointment with the specialist.
