Hi 

I had a normal smear two years ago (abnormal 15 years ago and had large loop excision).  I started bleeding between periods about 7 weeks ago, needing to pee all the time, change in bowel habits, constant pain and pressure in pelvis/tummy.  I went to docs who examined me and said I had a rough cervix with black marks, which looked suspicious. I was seen by a consultant a week later who said she didn’t think it was cancer as my cervix was soft and no lumps when she pressed my tummy.  She still referred me to colposcopy and for a scan (end of this week).  Could she be wrong?  Could it still be cancer? Can they tell just from Looking? I felt reassured at the time but as the bleeding and pain isn’t down to infection or anything the doc or consultant can pinpoint, I’m worried. I’m 37.
