swollen right neck lymph node

September 2018 I had a lower back molar out as it was very loose, I wasn't aware of it being a problem until dentist showed me.  I then had neck swelling a few days later and GP prescribed some antibiotics.  I then had some further dental treatments in Jan and March and continued to mention to my dentist about this feeling that there was a swelling in right side of my neck under jaw.  In the end went back to GP this September as was getting neck spasm when eating.   GP said there was a lump in my neck and fast tracked me for referral to ENT and had a neck scan which confirms I have a swollen lymph node and inflamed neck muscle. My dentist said I have TMJ also.  My bite has been off ever since I had my back molar removed.

The ENT consultant said I also may have silent reflux and prescribed me some anti gastric medications.  He put a camera up my nose and down my throat, which wasn't as bad a I thought it might be and said it all looked okay.  I was also booked for a barium swallow which I declined until I have results to neck scan and have been booked an appointment for next week for follow up.  Has ayone else had problems following dental treatment causing swollen glands?

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've been having over the past year.

It sounds as if it's been a frustrating time with not really knowing what has caused this issue. Hopefully your appointment next week will give you some answers and the Consultant will be able to  give you some advice on the next steps forward with things.

I really hope that it improves for you soon.

    Best wishes,
