Lump in breast. 25years old

Hi,

i recently found a lump in my breast.. it doesn’t hurt I would say it’s relitively small... about the size of my fingertip.

i went to the doctors yesterday and she sent me for urgent appointment mammogram at breast clinic which I have on wednesday!!

She said she can feel the lump and also thickening which I’m not sure what that means? I know I should of asked but I was quite worried as she said to me don’t be scared but it is suspected cancer and she didn’t want me to be alarmed if they mention that st the Breast clinic... She didn’t mention the possibility of it being anything else which I think has worried me more but of course I know that it being cancer isn’t the only thing it could be

has anyone been young and experienced this?

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your worries - it's of course perfectly natural to feel concerned in these situations; I hope you're getting on OK.
It's good that you don't have too much longer to wait to find out more. I would suggest making a note of any questions you have and raising them with the team at the clinic on Wednesday.
As you say, there are many things this could be so try not to worry too much until you know more - I know this is easier said than done.
There will be others here on this forum who have been through something similar - do search the forum if you would like to try to find others who have been through similar situations. Otherwise, hopefully others will be along here soon for further support.
