Just want to know

hi,

i posted a few weeks ago and was really grateful but sadly im back again. Something feels very wrong with my body and health, very wrong. Long story short, dark bloody stools, pain, swelling and a lot of other stuff too, and GP sent me for urgent tests. I had a sigmoidoscopy less than 2 weeks ago and told all was well. Great I thought. 2 days later was sent immediately from GP surgery to hospital with suspected perforated bowel and suspected sepsis. At hospital had chest, abdominal and stomach xrays and blood tests. Was told they wers ok and given some pills and told I would get an appointment in a while for a check up. They also examined and xrayed a lump on my rib (back, left side) which I was told previously by GP was a lipoma, that has doubled in size ( now 7 cm) .

Then  yesterday I got a call from the hospital saying I have to have a colonoscopy AND endoscopy on 8 th October as that is earliest appointment for both on same day. I am also waiting on a womb biposy result ( told 2 large fibroids found on ultrasound) for “ weird” heavy and random bleeding and bloody discharge ( infection ruled out). BUT, also have a lump ( now very large and visible) in my breast which I was told was benign 18 months ago ( core biopsy) and my breast is very obviously altered in size, shape and position ( very droopy and angling out towards my arm) I have a follow up appointment at breast clinic in October.

i am 47, not in menopause. I am VERY concerned indeed asI have felt very unwell for what feels like forever and Im scared that the original problem ( breast lump) was actually not benign and it was missed and was actually cancer and now it has spread.

ANY advice would be welcomed.

thank you.

  • Hi,

please can anybody relate to my post? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Very concerned and I have nobody I can openly talk with without causing worry. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi

I thought I would drop by as I noticed you hadn’t received a response to your post yet. I’m sorry to hear about everything you are going through.

I don’t have a similar experience I’m a breast cancer lady, but can relate to having scan after scan and waiting for results. Before I could start with treatment they found that my appendix was inflamed and it could have been appendix cancer, so had to have it removed, luckily it was just appendicitis.

I can understand your worry, but you are in the system and it’s better to know what you are dealing with. Try to keep busy and I hope it’s the best possible outcome for you.

Here if you need a chat.

    X

  • Hi Karen, so sorry you think things are dragging,, but i can understand how stressed you are, when i was first feeling ill I was going to GP every week at least twice Dr admitted there was something wrong but I had every test going and she admitted she didn't have a clue this was after three months so she sent me to specialist two months later finally told me it was cancer, then all the scans, biopsies and the rest took four months before I started treatment, that was Feb 2016, they do things as quick as possible, I'm afraid it does seem very very slow,,any way you can chase up your gp and explain everything it might help to relax you a bit to hear what they say,, anyway best wishes and good luck....
