Hi, I had a soft palette biopsy which was very traumatic for me. The doctors said it would be 2 weeks for the result. Whilst waiting for the results I have practically lived at the hospital backwards and forwards having numerous scans.  The doctors aren't really sure what I have hence the biopsy, one said he wasn't sure what it was and the consultant ordered a biopsy to see if its malignant or not.  I don't understand what the scans are for. Does anyone know what MRI CT and ultrasound scans are for.  Also how long does it take for the biopsy to heal.  The biopsy was deep, but no stitches as the doctor felt I couldn't take anymore as I hyperventilate so the blood vessels were Cauterization. 

Any advice would be most grateful
