Found hard lump in upper left area

About 9 years ago I thought I’d found a lump and was referred to breast clinic, I had a cyst that was drained but a mammogram revealed a cluster of calcifications.

i was called back for an urgent biopsy but this revealed the calcifications had dispersed. Since then I’ve had mammograms every two years that have been clear.

Was on holiday last week and when sunbathing my nipple area seemed really sore so was applying creamy shower gel when I felt an hard lump, never felt this before. I also thought the nipple looked darker in colour to the other and  prominent veins too,   I’m 54 and have been on HRT since having a full hysterectomy,

Got a doctors appointment tomorrow and a little bit worried. X

  • Hello Humbug92

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that you've found this lump recently. How did your appointment with the GP go today?

Do let us know how you got on when you're able to.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn, Thank you for your response, I had asked to see a female doctor first and told her about how I found it etc, she needed a chaperone to check too and only my usual doctor available, both found the lump immediately and said it was hard and sort of round, both noticed that the breast was swollen around that area. I am being fast tracked to a breast clinic and my appointment is on 20th September. The way they spoke etc makes me worried that it is something. I was given some reading about breast lumps and some anxiety tablets.

I really am beside myself with worry now x
