Still no answers

For the last 6 months and maybe more that I wasnt aware of, I have been experiencing quite a significant amount of blood in my stools. I seem to be going alot more than I used to.. sometimes 3-4 times a day. Obviously I have visited my GP and he referred me for a colonoscopy which thankfully came back with a clear result. No abnormalities detected. As joyous as I am about this result it still doesn't give me any answers as to where the blood is coming from. I'm currently waiting for an appointment to see a consultant on the colorectal surgery team at my local hospital which is still another 8 weeks away. In the meantime my doctor had signed me off work as I'm so stressed about what is going on that I'm not sleeping and cant cope with work. I'm desperately trying to get my appointment bought forward with no luck at all. I'm a single mum to 2 teenage boys and the thought of something being wrong is driving me nuts. I just want to know so I can get on with any treatment needed.

  • Welcome to the forum Rosiefilo although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.

The anxiety that waiting for tests and results can cause is very tough but you're not alone as many of our members have been through this as well and I'm sure some of them will pop by soon to offer their support and advice.

I really do hope you're able to get seen sooner and are finally able to get some answers.

    Kind regards,
