Lettz results

Hi 

I recently had lettz treatment and received a call 2 weeks after the procedure to come in the following day but  I missed the voice mail message. I then received a letter in the same week offering me to see the consultant next week but I must bring someone with me? Any ideas how serious this is and why I need to bring someone with me?

    It’s always good to have the support of another person when you go for appointments, and another pair of ears is very handy. When you’re anxious you may not take everything in, while the other person can listen and hear things you may miss. 

    No-one here would be able to say how serious it may or may not be, but you may need some follow up treatment or further investigations which your consultant needs to explain. I can’t say not to worry, because it’s only natural to worry about the unknown, but at least you don’t have long to wait for your appointment where all will become clear. Please do come back and let us know how you get on. xx

    Yes praying it won't be the worst case senario as the letter to GP also said that some cells were suggestive of CGIN.

    It’s difficult not to let our minds run away with all sorts of worst case scenarios-that’s what the unknown does to us. By worst case scenario I presume you mean cervical cancer, but bear in mind it may well not be as serious as that. Even if it is, the treatment plans are extremely effective for this type of cancer. 

    Try not to let your mind go to dark places at this point...it may well be that you just need some further treatment for abnormal cells which are not cancer. xx
