Hi All,

I have found a lump in my right breast, it has been there for approx 3 months or so.

I went to the GP on Friday and he did an examination along with a practice nurse. He did not ask any questions regarding symptoms or take any history but located the lump without any guidance.

He has referred me to the breast clinic. I cannot seem to rest easy and don’t understand why I have been referred on the basis of the lump only. Would the shape and size of the lump be enough to refer me on? What does this indicate? I didn’t know about urgent referral status until after I came home and reviewed the internet.

I never even thought to check online before going to the GP as I genuinely thought they would just tell me it was nothing to worry about and wouldn’t require anything further.

I turned 29 last week and just feeling very overwhelmed and have no idea what’s to come or how long it will take.
