not sure what to think

I found a lump in my right breast on Thursday. A couple of hours before we had to leave home and meet my partners sister, he found out she exsisted 6 weeks ago. A very emotional day.

I called my GP who booked me in an emrgency appointment for yesterday. I saw a GP I had never met before.

She examined me and then said some things that with hindsight I'm not sure why she said them. I dont want to go googling and scare myself I just want some facts or reasoning for why she explained the way she did.

She saiid "its bigger than a pea , about the size of a broadbean and hard"

                "it moves around"

are these things significant in any way ?

Im told I will be seen in 7-10 days, I have very large boobs - 48 H she said because of my size I may have a biopsy the same day.

Do I tell my boss tomorrow, prepare him ? Im vaguely panicking and not sure what about or if I should be

  • Hi Spinach, doc was seemingly 'thinking out loud', which is all you have to go on in your mind, so as hard as it is, try not to over think. Please do not consult ' Dr Google', he does no one any favours in the long run. What your doctor 'thought out loud' does make sense, from my experience as regards size of lump and whether it moves, or not, but please remember you do not necessarily have breast cancer, you did the right thing going to GP, but you just have to sit tight and wait now, as hard as that will be for you. Telling your boss, that's up to you, certainly sounds like GP has referred you to a breast clinic, so you'll need a day off to attend. Good idea to take a friend or relative along for moral support. Good luck hun. Plum
