endrometruim cancer dianosis

Hi evryone.

I am new to this and was just wondering if anyone had any advise.

I had postmenopausal bleeding for several weeks, which then turned into black tar blood heavy enough to have to wear a sanitory towel (i'm 55, went through menopause about 16 years ago).

I went to GP and was put on fast track. Had appointment with consultant and had he 2 ultra sounds. They couldnt see anything as womb was full of blood. On same day I had hysterscopy and again consultant couldnt see anything due to all the blood. He took a biopsy and put it through as urgent and said I would hear from another specilalist within a week or so.

I've now had a very shor letter from another consultant saying I need to have a CT and MRI scan "to assess my condition better". Nothing about the biopsy results or what my condition is! The letter says they will then send for my once they have the results.

Has anyone else had to have a CT and MRI before being told their results? If so how long did you have to wait for the scan and how long for the results and what was your outcome?

Also, has anyone else had a womb so full of blood that the ultra sound scan and hysterscopy couldnt see anything?

Im so worried this is not going to be good news, but worse of all is the waiting. If I knew what I was dealing with then I would be coping a lot better, I'm sure. This waiting is awful, so any info you have, good or bad, would be much appreciated, just so I as many facts as possible.

Mant thanks for reading this

Kind Regards

  • This is similar. I had post menopausal bleeding a d had scans, hysteroscopy, and biopsy. I was called in and told I had possible pre cancerous cells, but they would be sent away for further analysis. 2 weeks later I was diagnosed with early stage contained endometrial and had a full hysterectomy 10 days ago. After my hysterectomy I was told they had found masses on each ovary. I am really scared now waiting to be called back.

  • Hi, thank you for replying. Just wanted to wish you all the best and hope further tests come back ok. I haven't had any results back yet, just been told I need a ct and mri. Is this how it went with you? Did they give you ct and mri before biopsy results. I just have no idea whats going on. ive had ultra sounds and hysterscopy but they said so much blood in womb that they couldnt see anthing. I suspect that is why I now need ct and mri. xxx

  • Thanks for replying. There has been no mention of a CT or MRI scan as of yet. I like you have no idea what's going on. I had a pelvic ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound in June and there was no report of any masses on my ovaries. They weren't discovered until surgery. I don't know if they are cancerous, but presume they are as I had cancer in my womb..
