Unfortunately we are unable here to tell you what this might be but it sounds like you were looked after by a lovely and thorough nurse and it's good that she took into consideration your family history and as no one was available that day for a second opinion she did the right thing in referring you to the hospital where you will be throroughly examined. 

It won't be too long now until you get your appointment. I know it's really hard but try not to think too much about it in the coming days as fixating on this or looking things up online will only make you feel more anxious. 

Keeping everything crossed for you. You are in good hands at the hospital and I am sure they will be able to explain things in great depth for you.
