I've just been to my local hospital, saw lovely Dr and staff and she said "let's have a look and I'll take a biopsy".  Oh my good God the flippin pain! I screamed.  Twice.  She did attempt at getting the biopsy but said she is sending me to another hospital for a GA to have the hysteroscopy and biopsy and also LOOP excision of cervix.

Has anyone else had this done? Did you feel terrible pain? She said 90% of patients just feel a pinch but then the others (like me) hit the blinking roof! I kept apologising. I am just so relieved it's over. 

So now I have a pre-assessment at my local hospital on Wednesday next week and all day appointment on the Friday.  With a GA can I drive home afterwards or not allowed? I don't want to burden my parents with the worry of all this so will have to get taxis.

    The whole experience is nothing like the hell of having the biopsies awake!

    The pain when I woke up was like period pain.

    You go to sleep and wake up, it's over.

    I had to be in hospital for 7 and went down after 1! so plenty of time to think about it!

    I was very sleepy for the rest of the day, no way could I have driven.

    I’m the very same it’s ridiculous can’t wait until I get my results the sooner the better it’s madness how long you have to wait for results

    Thank you for your reply. Period pain I can deal with. Absolutely ridiculous the pain of a hysteroscopy for some women. I know some women breeze through it but that was almost frightening that pain because it was like something I’ve never experienced before. Fingers crossed for all of us x

    I had the procedure on the 15th August and have an appointment to go for results on the 11th September! I'm thinking things are ok if they're not getting me in sooner. Saying that you can never guess how they work, when I had the first biopsies I was supposed to go back in 2 weeks for the results and after a few days the specialist nurse rang me and said can you come in, in the morning..... I said so that means it's bad news.... and she said no not necessarily. I asked her if the biopsy results were back and she said she couldn't discuss it on the phone which made me worse as I thought she was just making excuses. Somehow I got there the morning after, so scared I thought I was going to crack up. Went in the room in tears and the Dr told me the biopsies were fine and she got me in to tell me she was going to send me for the hysteroscopy!!!!! I went through absolute hell since the phone call. So if anyone else has it done this way, don't assume the worst (as we all do). 

    Hope everyone has good results and we can put it all behind us.x

    Oh my goodness - bless you! It’s almost cruel isn’t it? I mean why can’t they just do that over the phone? I said to my boyfriend if I’m asked to attend for a meeting it’s bad news - we all automatically assume it is. Yes, let’s hope all our results are nothing serious x

    I also think that if specialist nurses are involved that's not a good sign as I have a specialist nurse because of bowel cancer.

    At my appointment a specialist nurse was hanging around, she even came to tell me the Dr was running 10 minutes late and I said to my husband.... O great, she's hanging about until it's my turn! she came in with me and all was fine so don't get worried if you get one.
