Prostate psa level

Hello

my Dad has a PSA level of 172 and he’s in the 2 week wait and has an appointment for an MRI and a bone scan. With the bone scan being done before a biopsy/the scan, is it unreasonable to assume that they are more or less sure that it’s cancer?

Thank you

  • Hi catyw until biopsy and scanning nothing is 100persent psa has been known to be in the High hundreds and no cancer, the scans and biopsy are done as and when they can get your father in there's no special order,, but more than likely it is sorry, specialists will find the best treatment options for him after all the details have been checked, once gleason score and stage you'll have a better idea of treatment good luck..
