Core biopsy results

Hello all

I had a ct scan on my lungs which showed a lump in my breast. Ive had a mammogram, ultrasound and core biopsy. Was told i have a fibroadenoma and extra cysts and not to worry.

3 weeks later i now have a 2nd appointment and have been told this could last 3 hours etc but nothing about why.

I am guessing it could be anything from the biopsy went wrong , to cysts need draining, to cancer.

Has anyone got some words of advice or wisdom re what to expdct and questions i must ensure i ask? Thanks

Hi molly
did they tell you it was Fibre and cysts as a result of the biopsy results? It does seem odd that they have called you back, if it were the latter. If it were me I would call the clinic and ask them why you have been recalled. Without knowing why it’s difficult to offer advice or questions that should be asked.
it could be to drain the cysts etc but then I would imagine that option would have been explored at the time.
let us know how you get on.

Hi i got all the main results on the day so left knowing i had cysts and a fibroadenoma but was just waiting for the biopsy results.
I dont like to call as they are super busy- it is what it is i suppose?
Like i said perhaps the biopsy didnt work correctly

Hi molly,
it is normal procedure to bring you back in to hear of your biopsy results and discuss any treatment required. It all sounds routine to me.

Ok thanks for this.
I was told if the biopsy was fine they would send me a letter to confirm and that would be it and i would be discharged but perhaps you are right.
