Swollen lymph node on the side of the neck

Hello! 5 weeks ago I discovered a swollen, painless lymph node on the left side of my neck. I had an online Dr appointment over video call and she recommended going to see my GP if it doesn't go away in 2 weeks.

I waited 4 weeks and went to see my GP who said that it is too small to do ultrasound or any checks on it. He told me to come back in 6 weeks if it doesn't go away. He didn't seem worried but I find it unusuall that it hasn't gone back to normal and I am confused regarding what the cause might be.

  • Hi there, I have this exact same problem although mine was found around 4 years ago. I went for a scan on it and it all appeared normal. I have just recently gone back to the doctors as I thought it was getting larger. (It’s 1cm)I ended up having a full blood count etc as I have been feeling unwell. Your lymph nodes are responsible  for fighting infections so it could be that you have something vita. Perhaps and your node is slightly raised.

My bloody results came back yesterday which shoes I have high bilarubin which is the most likely cause for mine apparently and why I’ve been feeling generally crap.  Try not to worry to much but if I’m any doubt go back.
