Lumps on testicles

I feel I’m in a predicament here, I’ve recently found lumps near the top of both my testicles, I’ve just the other day been accepted into my uni of choice and will be starting shortly. I’ve never had to make an appointment to see my gp before (I don’t think I could ask my parents to book for me as it would be quite a shock) and I am worried that if it is cancer and I have to go into surgery and recovery when I’m meant to be at university. Also all the accommodation and student finance is currently being sorted out. Not sure what to do, I’m quite stressed and finding it hard to sleep because of it. Any response is appreciated, thanks.

  • Hello Ozlar123,

Welcome to our forum. First of all congratulations on being accepted into your university of choice. This is a fantastic achievement and I bet your family is very proud of you. Please do not worry about cancer - there can be so many different explanations for these lumps but only a doctor will be able to tell you what it is and give you peace of mind. So don't hesitate to give your surgery a call to book an appointment. You can find out more about how to do that on this page. As you are of university age, you shouldn't need to be accompanied by a parent but if it reassures you to talk to your parents about it, I am sure they will understand and that they will be happy to help and guide you further on this.

So please do not stress or worry, just go and see your doctor and you can then hopefully relax and get ready for your fun new university life!

    Best wishes,
