Hi. I feel like I’ve posted so much on here in the last few weeks - but my family are not very good at this and google just scares the life out of me.
i had a biopsy on my breast- all came back clear - the specialist said no cancerous cells or even cells that turn into cancer. But he’s still doing a lumpectomy ? I’ve looked at the paperwork for the operation and the reason for operation states for removal of lump and to make a diagnosis?
this has confused me, my specialist is lovely and I have the upmost respect for him but he’s not the best when it comes to explaining things. I called my doctor so he could go through the biopsy results and my doctor said he doesn’t seem to understand why he’s removing the lump either.
im just confused why? I have convinced myself of the worst- I’m almost 12 weeks pregnant and apparently pregnancy speeds up the growth of cancer (google) I am petrified...
my operation is next Monday and results about a week after. I’m going insane and no matter how much I try to calm myself down I just can’t help but get myself in such a state.
Why would my surgeon remove a lump for further testing? If it’s not cancerous?
Im sport I know this is a huge ask- but can anyone shed some light on this- or anyone who may have had this experience?
