Waiting for biopsy results

Hi everyone,

New to this page so a quick explanation of how I came to be here.

I started bleeding at the end of Feb and haven't stopped since. I frequently flood through multiple sanitary products, clothing and have to check everytime I stand up that I haven't ruined the seat. I have had to have an iron infusion due to severe anaemia. I had an ultrasound recently which showed an endometrial lining thickness of 28mm and a 3cm ovarian cyst (simple). Last week I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy done (holy moly those hurt!) Now I am just waiting for results.

The nurse performing the procedure showed us the screen and it looked a mess in there! I am 38 have 3 children all via csection (if that matters)  and am wondering if anyone else is currently or has been in a similar situation and what the outcome was.

Thanks if you got this far reading my ramblings!

  • Hi Lgb and welcome to the Cancer Chat forum.

I'm really sorry to read about the heavy bleeding you've been contending with. It must be very upsetting and stressful.

Hopefully some of our members who are in a similar situation will share their outcomes with you soon but do feel free to join in on any discussions you find as our community are very welcoming and will do what they can to help.

I hope you don't have too long to wait for your results and that they bring good news when the time comes Lgb.

    All the best,

  • Hi Steph,

    Thanks for your reply x

I am not really a worrier, just keen to find out results so I can get to the cause of the bleeding and hopefully make it stop. It's rather exhausting! Lol

    Thanks again x

  • Hi I am in same boat. I had no periods for six months bloods showed i am apparently post menopause and have chronic anemia. Although now confused as bled again a few times very heavy like yourself but been told you cannot be post menopause until a year with no periods. However was referred and had biopsy due to thickening although not sure of measurements nobody told me. I was told two weeks til results and now been waiting three weeks apparently there is a back log at my hospital. All I can say is I cried was very scared anxious that has gone now I am at peace with whatever the results are. The only thing i dont like is feeling in limbo i am studying it will mess my plan up and the lack of control at the moment. Please feel free to message as the feelings you will have are all normal and then I think the mind gets tired and you just want to know, deal with it and move on. All my love and support x

  • Thank you so much for your reply x

I am sorry you are going through this right now. It always seems to be the wait which gets to people I think. At least knowing something one way or the other then you can deal with it and get on with things, limbo is not a good place to be! And you are absolutely right about the lack of control, it has changed my lifestyle completely over the past 6 months as I can't be anywhere for too long as I am prone to flooding which is extremely embarrassing

It sounds like you have a lot to deal with alongside your studying. I hope the course is a good distraction from the worry and not the other way about.

Please feel free to message me as it us good to chat to someone in the same boat xx

Take care and gentle hugs x
