Low grade abnormal cells & hpv positive.

Hi all,

Im 28, and got a smear done in Nov 2018 my results came back that I have low grade abnormal cells and hpv. My doctor sent off for me to have a colposcopy. Which I went to get done the other day. When I went to the hospital they done a biopsy. And said ill be waiting up to 8 weeks for the results. I think I have hpv about two years as I wasnt sexually active since around the time.

Im just worried that the results might come back as bad news.

Anyone else have to get a biopsy for low grade abnormal cells & hpv.?

  • Welcome to the forum R2019 although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

    There are many discussions on the forum by members who have had the same screening results so if you'd like to get in touch with them to find out if they had biopsies taken during their colposcopies just use the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

    Waiting for results is always tough but if you can stay busy and distract yourself it will help make this time go a little bit quicker.
