No idea where to turn

Hi all,

First of all apologies for the long post, I've been reading over this forum for months now wondering if I should post, then feeling guilty for even thinking about posting after seeing the hell most of you are going through. But I've finally hit a wall, I don't know where to turn or who to talk to, I don't want to burden any of my family or friends with my worries, I don't know if I'm being super paranoid, if it's in my head, am I making it up or is it all happening. Anyway here's a bit about where it all started and the symptoms which are now ruling my life!!

It all started around 15 years ago after my first child. My periods were awful, always heavy and lasting forever! I was put on the depo injection and they stopped! Lovely, then after 8 years we decided to try for another, 6 months of hell back to constant heavy bleeding and I fell pregnant. Again afterwards went back on depo. Then after a couple of years I knew something wasn't quite right, and after 4 years of fighting I got a diagnosis of PCOS ( I had to fight because apparently I didn't 'look' like I had it, I wasn't fat and I had heavy periods so anyway, was told lilleyhood of me getting pregnant again could be slim, in the meantime I'd been taken off depo as 11 years is too long, tried every pill going, couldn't get on with any of them then bam! I was pregnant again. Turns out I wasn't as infertile as they thought! Anyway after my daughter the periods were awful, I was using tampons and towels together bleeding through both, one day I noticed some weird tissue like substance in the blood, was sent to the hospital as I also had pain and a tender abdomen. After a scan they found a polyp, arranged to have that removed and have the mirena coil fitted. Periods stopped and things were better. Had other health issues going on, started having dizzy spells and suffered awful fatigue, then that went away. In the last year it's all come back with a vengeance. Still have no periods as the coil is still in there, but I'm getting recurring cysts, pain, spotting. Can't remember how many internal scans I've had but the last one showed another polyp, I'm due to go and have this removed in 2 weeks, I've had a biopsy taken (still waiting results) im getting a lot of discharge, sometimes pink, sometimes dark yellow and others clear, I feel a dull ache then I can feel it coming out sorry tmi and I've also noticed an awful odor even after I've washed.

3 months ago the dizzy spells returned and I've had a headache every single day since, been given migraine tablets, had the nerves in my neck blocked, nothing has worked, not even pink gin!! I've had an MRI (head) which I get results for tomoro, the dvla have taken my licence away until it's sorted and I'm symptom free??? To top it off last week I noticed a new mole, on closer inspection it doesn't look 'normal' in the slightest!!

The fatigue and nausea is taking over my life, people ask how I am and I don't even know where to start!!! I'm getting on my own nerves, if you've made it this far thank you so much for reading, I don't know what I'm hoping to gain from this post, I just needed to write it somewhere, we have a family history of gynae issues, endometrial cancer and I also have EDS (hypermobility syndrome) my Nan had the endometrial cancer and her journey is identical to mine, I feel like I'm just a ticking time bomb, waiting, and I'm going mad almost wishing for a diagnosis of something so that I know there's a reason for everything I'm suffering with

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I was sorry to learn about your situation.Things like this are bound to be stressful, but try not to anticipate what might be the matter, not even your doctor can be sure at the moment.

It sounds like your doctor has taken your symptoms seriously as they have referred you to the hospital for tests.I think until your biopsy and scan results are available, no one will be able to tell you any more.Your symptoms could be related to a number of different gynaecological conditions,so they may consider doing further tests over time if needed. It's often a process of elimination to find out the cause of someone’s symptoms.

In the meantime do go back and see your GP about the mole you are worried about.

I hope you know more about your situation soon.Give us a ring if you want to talk anything over.  Our number is 0808 800 4040 and we are here from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,

    Celene
