Hello,
I did post a few days ago...but after some reassurance. I suffer with awful anxiety and at the moment it is through the roof.
It peeked when about 4 weeks ago I found a small lump in the lower part of my neck. I freaked out and googled what it could be and lymphoma came up. I have since convinced myself that I have lymphoma and have looked up all the symptoms etc and turned myself into a nervous wreck. I made a stupid mistake of joining a Facebook group for people that do have it or know people that have it and was doubley convinced I had it. I went to the doctor's and showed her the lump. I was put orward for a scan on a urgent referral and absolutely fell to bits waiting. The scan turned out to be fine and was nothing more than a reactive lymph node. However when I got my blood results back I was told to make a routine appointment about my results. I have never ever had to go back about blood results so this also out me in a spin, I couldn't handle waiting the two weeks to see a doctor so rang up. The doctor explained that everything in my bloods such as iron, kidney, liver, thyroid and everything else was fine. The only thing was my white blood cells and inflammatory markers were slightly raised. I explained I was terrified I had cancer and she said no it didn't look like that and to still go for my scan. Well obviously waiting for the scan was hell but as I said that was ok. I did go back to the doctor's again and explain how worried I was she said looking at my bloods the white cells were only marginally raised and the scan was fine. I am on anti anxiety medication and my dose has been upped. She said we could repeat the test again in a few weeks but she said if wasn't really necessary. I'm just still worried and a bit freaked out that my bloods were a bit different. Every single time I've ring for blood results in the past I have always had "no action required" and to ring and then tell me I need to come back really really worried me. I have no other symptoms of Lymphoma such as weight loss, itching, fever, the only thing I do have is I keep getting hot (not night sweats as such) just got and clammy spells that go and come. I should also mention I work in a school. I got a bad case of tonisilitus in MAY/JUNE, that seemed to last a while (I did wonder if I had glandular fever) I also had a tatto on my neck in June that went a bit sore and had a mild ear infection. The lump has got smaller and hasn't changed but as I said has been checked by a sonographer.
Sorry for waffling just needed to vent.
