Hi everyone,
I’m interested to know your experience with breast lumps and if you can help me out with mine?
I noticed a hard lump the size of a walnut in my right breast very recently. My Mother has breast cancer so I naturally considered it to be a potential problem. I went to the GP who said it was a concern and referred my through the ‘urgent’ 2 week referral thing. I’ve had an appointment and letter through for the week after next. It’s with the breast surgeon or one of his team. It said this decision was made after consulting with GP and the consultant. Is that what they normally say?
The lump is hard and the GPs description of the size of a walnut is accurate. He documented it as fully mobile however I don’t feel it is. It’s changed already in just a week. It’s still hard and feels bumpy like a walnut or like a brain if brains were hard! I can feel that it’s an oval shape on the outside but on the side that faces my other breast it feels firmly attached. I can’t feel any edge at all like I can the other side. Due to my (.)(.) being less ‘full’ than they were, well they are pretty empty and no good for use nor ornament anymore I can see why he thought it was mobile as you can push it up, but what i’m concerned about is you can push up all of the insides! He seemed very nervous and almost looked like the grim reaper was stood behind me when he felt it. I was calm and still am. I’m really concerned that it could be cancer.
I’m 34.
Have you ever had anything like this? If you did what did it turn out to be? I’m certain it’s not a cyst but could be a Fibroadenoma. I just think if it was cancer, surely I would have noticed it before now and surely i’m Too young for such a large tumour?
Any advice would be really appreciated. My appointment is 20th August.
Amy.
