Hi,
im 36 and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 10yrs ago, however I have not had a flare up for years and do not take medication (this was under my own recommendation)
the last yr or so I began to get pain on the left hand side under my rib cage. It began as a drip feeling which began to affect every day life. I also started to suffer with on and off constipation. Initially the doctors ignored my complaints, then took bloods which came back low white blood count. Then pain became more ongoing and I was given lansoprasil 30mg twice a day which stopped it being as constant. I have had my stools checked and I have slight inflammation no blood. Now I am waiting on gastric appointments and colonoscopy. The pain continues and has progressed to lower in my left hand side and my bowel movements continue to be unusual to my normal.
i feel sick a lot of the time and my stomach makes noise constantly. I’m bloated and struggle with keeping the weight off which again is a new thing.
the doctor mentioned potential risk of cancer due to my history and lack of engagement with with ulcerative colitis.
Ive got myself very worried as both my parents have had/got cancer and read articles regarding late diagnosis of bowl/colon cancer with similar symptoms
feeling very anxious and worried
