Does anyone have some advice on this?

Hi Sam and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the worries your sore throat is causing and the differing feedback you've received from the ENTs you've seen. Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will be along soon to offer their thoughts and advice but you could go back to your GP and let them know what you were told when you went to see the private ENT and see what they think.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you are able to get the reassurance and peace of mind you're seeking at this time.

well I'm a bit confused as to what's happening as the ent secretary rang me to say that the MRI scan came back as normal but they still want to see me when the face to face appointments start - whenever that may be . I'm still panicking that something is wrong as why would they want to see me if all is ok? My husband said they see you after anyway to explain the scan in detail and to maybe suggest other tests to investigate my symptoms  ...so that could be what your appointment is for too. Did your appointment come through the post ? I rang the secretary and left a message and she rang me back xxx

That's great news!! So happy for you! What are you symptoms again? They probably just want to get to the bottom of them. Mergh. Ive not heard anything about my results for the MRI but got an email saying that my follow up apppintment will no longer be telephone but face to face and that's in two weeks - I'm quite scared but what can I do. Took my son doctors today for his lymph node they aren't worried but said being him back in four weeks :/ xxx

How did you find the contrast? Xx

They said mine won't be telephone either , I think it's because face to face starts soon and they need to physically check / feel / look at you . 
the contrast was absolutely fine , no effects from it whatsoever.

i have one swollen / bigger tonsil compared to the other side , ear pain and a cyst type thing in my throat but they say that's mucous ?? I did have neck pain but that has eased now . 
glad your son is ok , one less thing for you to worry over. It's so hard waiting isn't it xxx
