Neck lump..help

Hi everyone was looking for some advice, about 9 weeks ago I noticed a lump on my neck, I went to gp a few days later by then I had slight cold symptoms., she said swollen gland...go back in a couple if weeks if hasn't went down.. which I did and told viral infection and this gp said swollen gland again.

Last week I went back and I had developed vertigo and still concerned about the lump and now I have another smaller one on my neck but this time under the tounge area.

I am concerned because of family history and my symptoms which are

Neck pain

Pain around lumps

Tounge pain

Ear pain

Pain in my trachea / oesophagus like a full cramping inside or pushing pain

Itching

I still have vertigo

Swallowing issues

I have long term fatigue which has never bern figured out and lots of stomach issues so not likely connected.

I seen a different gp last week who couldnt feel lumps ( I was annoyed because the original one is easy to feel) and was diagnosed my vertigo..he done bloods anyway he done bloods ..I called a few days ago and told all normal.. I asked crp level which was 5 I dont know what the other ones were and I have to have them repeated in a month. I dont know if I should try and just wait it out or go back to gp and this time write my symptoms down? A month seems a long time to wait when I'm terrified, I'm so dizzy and in pain at times that I can barley walk..but i dont want to look like I'm overreacting. Sorry I just dont know where to turn

Thanks to anyone reading

  • Hi Lisa,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about the symptoms you've been experiencing recently and how you're feeling. This kind of uncertainty can be worrying.

Writing your symptoms down is a good idea - you could work on a kind of daily log, where you note down any symptoms and how you're feeling. This will allow you to be able to keep an eye on things, including how anything is progressing. It will also be useful information for the doctor if you make another appointment.

If you feel like things are getting worse or if you're overly concerned then there's no harm in making another appointment. Alternatively if you'd like to discuss anything with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,
