My GP referred me to my local breast clinic due to a slight colour change on by right breast. He thought it was fine but would send me to put my mind at rest. By the time I went to the breast clinic my breast was a normal colour again, so I was not worried and neither was the consultant, but he said you are 49 now so you might has well have a mammogram while you are here, because you will be called when you are 50. So I had the mammogram and was shocked to be called in for an ultrasound on my left breast as they had found Micro Calcifications and had to go back later in the day for a core biopsy. I was told it will be two weeks until you get your results they have professionals meeting every Monday and then call people back so was expecting my results today or tomorrow. However, as I have not heard I rang and was told my case was discussed at the meeting on Monday, but the Pathologist wants to continue working on the samples. So it will be another week before I know that is three weeks waiting. I am trying to be postive but worried why they need to do more work on the samples and three weeks is a long time to wait for results. Has anybody else had to wait so long for their results?
