Lymph node in neck! Unbearable!

Hi,

Im 27 year old, 2 kids.

for a about 2 weeks I’ve had next and throat problems.  It started with what felt like my tonsils... on the right hand side. That lasted 3 days then moved to my left again lasted about the same. I also have fever while this happened.

I went to the doctors to be told nothing was wrong and just to take paracetamol.

the pain in my throat has gone but now my lymph node on my left hand side is swollen and the pain is immense! Especially in the morning, my lips become swollen and can’t move, talk, drink etc for a while. I’ve been having terrible night sweats too.

Yesterday I rang 111 and saw a doctor and she said it’s reflux... and last night I was to be propped up in bed and take gaviscon etc

I woke up this morning worst, i again have no pain coming from my throat but all the pain is from my lymph node.

(I have also been drinking over the last few nights, due to special occasions...the pain isn’t so bad in the day but the moment alcohol touches my lips, the pains back. But last night I didn't took touch a drop but still woke up the same)

Anyone have any idea... sick of getting told different things and nothing actually being done!! This pain is the worst ever. Every morning I wake crying, dizzy and sweating !

thank you in advanced

  • Hi Danielle and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read what's going on and can understand your frustration. Unfortunately no-one here will be able to tell you what this is so if you have more than one doctor at your GP surgery maybe you could book in to see them to get a second opinion

Lymph nodes are quite a common talking point on the forum so do feel free to join in on any discussions you find about this but hopefully some of our members will reply to you here as well.

I hope something gets done about this soon Danielle.

    All the best,
