Breast lump advice...what would you do?

Hi all

I ve been at the breast clinic on Monday where I had a breast examination and ultrasound. They said that from the ultrasound my lump looks like a fibroadenoma but they ve done a core biopsy  to be sure. On August 15th (my birthday) I have the appointment to find out my results.

The  problem is that on the 13th I should go on Holiday and also see my family that I haven't seen for a year now , I don’t know what to do , move the flight after the 15th or postpone  the appointment for the results in three weeks and leaving without knowing anything.  I really want  to enjoy my birthday  which could be the last one as a “healthy”and the time with my family but at the same time I would like to know my diagnosis first ... What  would you do?

    What a conumdrum you find yourself with! Did you mention to the hospital that you were due to be going away on that day? If not it's certainly worth giving them a call to see if there's any chance the appointment could be brought forward at all. 

    It sounds reassuring that the team felt it was nothing sinister from the tests they completed at clinic but obviously taking a biopsy will be the only way to confirm things. 

    Perhaps chatting things through with one of our team of nurses would help you to decide what you'd like to do. You could give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).
