MRI appointment before my biopsy results

I get the results of my breast biopsy tomorrow. Am preparing for the worst as the consultant told me that my results are highly suspicious and that it is very likely that I will get a cancer diagnosis.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I am preparing myself for my biopsy results tomorrow when I get a call from the hospital asking me if I have received my appointment for my MRI.  I am completely stumped. What does this mean?? Why do I need an MRI at this stage?  I’ve seen women on here with breast cancer diagnoses who haven’t had an MRI until after removal of nodes has revealed cancer in the nodes.

I’m going out of my mind with worry.

Any insights into what this could mean would be welcome.

How did you get on at the appointment yesterday? I hope that the consultant was able to answer your questions and give you some positive news.

If you'd like to chat to someone about anything from your appointment yesterday you can give our team of nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
