Small lump at the top of the right testicle

hello, I am a 14 male going through puberty. My testicle haven’t dropped yet. The other day I noticed a small, soft and squishy lump atop my right testicle. The lump felt like a ball that had just been attached to the top of my right testicle. The lump doesn’t give me any pain whenever I squeeze it or feel it, at the time when I found out, this was 2 days ago from posting this, I had asked my friend and he had encounter the same lump but another friend had not. I don’t know wether this is puberty or something if concern. Personally I haven’t told my parents and am starting to worry about the lump like I would as I am a worrier. The lump is very small (3cm approx), doesn’t hurt whenever I push or squeeze it, the lump feels soft and limp. If anyone could diagnose or help me with what to do then that would be extremely appreciated.

  • Hi James,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. Unfortunately no-one on here can give you a diagnosis - only your doctor can do that.

It's worth noting that most testicular lumps or bumps are not anything sinister and can often go away on their own. Having said that, if you're worried about anything unusual then you should arrange to see your doctor. I know it can feel uncomfortable to do this, but it's something they're used to seeing and dealing with - and it will give you peace of mind.

You could start by telling your parents and then making an appointment so as to help ease your worries - you will likely feel better after doing this even though it can feel difficult to do.

    Wishing you all the best,
