Painful Lump in Breast

I was debating whether to post on here but here I go. I started having pain in my breast last week and I noticed a few weeks the pain as well. I finally checked my breast and I found a lump...hard to find but it's definitely there.

It's largish when I roll two fingers under my right breast I can feel a lump under the breast tissue which goes behind my nipple and around the outter edge of my breast.

I went to the dr's and he did an examination and couldn't feel it, to which I had to show him how I found it and low and behold he was shocked he didn't find it the first time.

I've got an appointment next week, 31st, which is the earliest they could get me in. Currently I'm in pain, it feels it's getting worse. I'm getting slight chest pain and if I move my right arm behind my body it's painful.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it's just cysts but I'm kinda freaking out. After having my baby (it's now been nearly 3 years) I've noticed puckering and changes my breast but put it down to just that.

I've  dealalso been dealing with unexplained very painful hand pain since march 2018 which the dr's can't figure out yet. I feel like I'm struggling to cope with it all and I'm only 29 (sorry to get all woe is me!)

Just would like some peace of mind with this particular issue. Thank you all x

  • Hello Kitkat29,

You've taken the right steps in getting it all checked out and it won't be long now until you get your appointment on the 31st and you get some answers. The wait can be really stressful and I hope you are managing to keep busy and distracted in the meantime. Try not to look anything up online or this will exacerbate your worries.

If you are still concerned about your painful hand issue, it might be worth considering getting a second opinion just for peace of mind. You can find out more about this here

I hope you find out more soon and that it all turns out fine for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Lucie,

    Thank you for replying.

Yeah it's not too long I'm hoping it will go away in that time as well.

My hands are a much bigger issue to be honest but I'm still going through investigation period with the NHS.

I've been to rheumatology and she said she gives up and can't find anything particularly wrong in my blood tests and my ultrasound on my hands came back normal.

I'm currently going through the process of finding out where I'm getting referred. I'm struggling with day to day activities but the doctors don't seem that concerned.

We'll see what happens, I don't know where to find support groups for my hands because they are still trying to figure out what it is. All I know is the drug amitriptyline helps with some of the pain.

Thank you so much for your advice.
