Could it be lymphoma?

I came down with flu round early June felt bad fatigued etc. The flu went but the fatigue lingered and is nothing like i've experienced before in the past and coupled with headaches. I'm concerned about Lymphoma as I have had joint pains in my left leg(where the lymph nodes are), for about a month or longer. I'm worried it is a swollen node. I also have lumps on my neck, however I was told that these were just glands and I've had them for years. I'm worried that this flu has masked something more sinister.

The pain in my joint mainly hurts when I move that part. I've gone to the doctors multiple times as the fatigue has affected my quality of life, but tests I have come back normal. What tests have done is the following:

Blood test - CBC, cortisol, creatine, LDH - all came back normal

Chest X rays (recent)

Past tests:

Echocardiogram (while back)

Endoscopy (last year)

Colonoscopy(last year)

ECGs (while back)

Though these have come back normal, I'm worried that I still have not recovered and these pains in my joints could indicate a problem with the lymph nodes. Is there anything I can do to get the doctor to investigate this?

  • Aw im sorry, please try to enjoy the party and dont overthink this. Some flus can wipe people out and take a long time to recover. It just depends what you had, theres so many different strains. Try to trust the doctors and stop researching this. That will be one of the first things you will be taught in CBT. You have been referred for a scan, so try to put it to the back of your mind until then. You will get to the bottom of this, but give it time and see if it clears and if not then you can ask your doctor what should be done next. Im in the same position right now, I know how hard this is.

  • It's harder as i gave my mum it and she's okay now but not me..

Edit: not to imply that I'm not happy my mum is better, but more confused why I still have this.

  • How are things ? I managed to push forward my appointment by a week, still anxious but trying to ignore it all.

  • Im not as bad, still getting low grade fevers but not as often. Hope it goes away! Doctor said I should get an appt with a hematologist in the next month. How are you feeling? Do you still have the fatigue as bad?

  • What is a low grade fever? Do you physically feel hot when touched? Hope you get better soon. As for me I've got a painful lump in the groin area (the joint area). A bit worried as I don't know if it was sudden or a continued growth.

Been feeling cold symptoms. The fatigue is a weird one it's comes with a foggy head, I think I'm getting better but then I'll walk abd ny body feels heavy again. It's like a general feeling of unwell.

  • Seems the cough I mentioned has gotten worse, made worse by being out with not much on. Look back this cough has lasted about a month and now has become persistent.

  • Have you had your ultrasound yet? Are you going to go back to the doctor? Maybe you have picked up a cold now, do you have a runny nose or anything?

I had an awful night last night, had a fever all night and I have a new painful swollen lymph node in my neck. Im wondering have I picked up a virus. Everyone in my family has had a virus in the last week, they all had fevers and sore stomachs so I most likely have the same thing

  • The ultrasound for my groin is later. I've just had a sore throat but what is persistent is this cough, not much phelgm some times my throats hurts when I move my head up. Pain is right at the base of the throat. I was sneezing intially but cough has lingered so hopefully it is just a cold. But as I said think this cough has lasted longer just on and off it's hard to tell.

It's possible you have a virus if everyone else does, have you gone to the doctor?

  • This cough is still persisting, though not as often. Thing worrying me at the moment is the horsiness when I talk like I have something in my throat

  • How long have you had the horsiness? If the cough is less maybe its just the end of whatever virus you have had.

Sorry I havent been on, I find being on this site makes me more anxious so I've been trying to keep busy and not think of it all. I do think I did have a virus and thats why I got the swollen node etc. But I'm still getting the fevers in my sleep. God knows how long the wait will be to see a hematologist!
