So anxious

Glad to have found this forum as somewhere to offload

My 6 year old had an orbital mass found on MRI 3 weeks ago. Since then it’s been a rollercoaster - was initially thought to be benign looking so had some medication but it didn’t respond so she has a biopsy on Wednesday. We were originally told results would probably be available on Thursday - but they weren’t and not back on Friday either, and obviously now it’s the weekend.

I did think next day was too quick for biopsy results but just feeling so anxious now - I wish they’d said it would be a week or whatever and we could have switched off a bit over the weekend. As it is my brain is just working overtime and I keep trying to second guess everything- which I know is futile, we just need to wait for those results.

  • Hello Goldenplover,

Welcome to the forum although I'm really sorry to read about the news that has led you here.

I don't doubt that this has been a very difficult time for you all. Waiting for test results can cause lots of anxiety and as these results are for you daughter I would imagine even more so! Although natural, second guessing everything won't bring news any quicker.

I hope that you hear something positive this week. Know that the forum is here for you to come and offload anytime that you need to. We've also got a great team of nurses that you can call and speak to if you think it would help at any point. They're available Monday to Friday 9am tom 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know when you hear some news.

    best wishes,

  • Thank you

We now have results - it’s a rhabdomyosarcoma which is what I had thought / expected. So that is (sort of) good
