Hello.
So i went to see my GP yesterday about some symptoms I have been having. I presumed they were bowel related. Whilst there she asked me lots of questions regarding my periods. Looking at the last year and all symptoms it has terrified me.
Since August last year I have been feeling movement in my abdomen. Assumed it was wind. Then around 4 months ago I Started experiencing niggling pain in my left upper abdomen. This has become more frequent and hurts just after eating hence I suspected bowel. I also have a bloated tummy. Not too big but could pass for early pregnant. The pains i have feel like trapped wind under the ribs.
My periods have always been like clockwork however my last 3 have been late and then early. Usually lasting around 5-7 days, my last 3 have also been very short lasting only 2-3 days. I don't know why I hadn't worried about it until I spoke with the gp. I get painful hips and back during my cycle but now that seems to be constant. Although the pain isn't that bad, it's always niggling. I'm a mum of 3 and work evenings so I'm generally tired anyway. I have also been experiencing discomfort during intercourse.
The gp had a feel of my tummy and then gave me a blood form. She said she wants to rule out any issues with my ovaries. Until I looked at the form I hadn't even thought about cancer but I saw the CA125 and am now freaking out. I had the bloods done this morning so hoping I get results next week.
Can anyone shed light on how long the results may take. Also if they do come back as higher than expecte, what the next steps may be.
Thank you
