Hi!
So I'm 21 and I found a lump in my left breast around 2 months ago now and its still there. I was referred to the breast clinic and saw the nurse practitioner who could feel the lump just as I could in my one breast. She drew around it with a pen and told me it was approx 2 cm in diameter. I had an ultrasound and they couldnt see anything on the ultrasound - she said it looked like normal breast tissue.
Since that appointment, my breast had felt very uncomfortable and I had a follow up with a consultant just over a week later. I waited over an hour just to be seen and then she only saw me for 5 min, telling me how long her day had been and how she needed a rest (I was the last appointment of the day). She told me not to worry, buy a new bra (I'd only just bought new bras from Bravissimo so I knew they fit) and handed me a leaflet about breast pain (I had not told her I had breast pain, because I didn't so I couldn't understand why she'd given me this). She then discharged me and told me not to worry.
I feel that I got no clearance from this and I'm still worried as after 2 months the lump is still there. I feel like they just tried to shove me out the door because of my age, but I'm still no clearer on why this large lump has suddenly appeared in one breast. The nurse could feel it too and so could my GP, so I'm just confused at why the consultant would dismiss it like that and appear to not even listen to my symptoms?
I'm worried out of my mind but feel silly going through the whole process again so soon :-(
